Keith Gum’s Paper Making Workshops. Saturday, June 10 and June 24 from 9:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.. These workshops will offer an introduction to the paper making process, including how to pull sheets of paper as well as various papermaking and artistic techniques. Students will learn the ancient art of paper making from start to finish from basic pulp paper making techniques to pulp production, foring couching and drying. Lou Ann Kapcin’s Acrylic Class (ages 6 and up). Saturday, June 24th from 10:00 a.m – noon. This class will be sharks vs mermaids! Students will choose to paint either a pre-sketched mermaid or a toothy shark with acrylics. Telephone the Gallery to enroll.
Lynda Ryan’s Wire-Sculpture Adjustable Ring Class. Sunday, June 11 from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m.. Students will complete an adjustable ring in Argentium Sterling Silver. Each learns some of the basics in using square wire, twisting it and using half-round wire for finishing. Samples of the rings are in the Gallery. Besides the step by step instructions in class, each student will be supplied with written instructions Argentium sterling silver wire and a choice of semi-precious beads or Swarovski Crystals to complete his or her ring. Tools needed are flat nose and round nose pliers and close/flush cutters. Cost is $55 which includes materials. Call the Gallery to register. Class size is limited.
